Youth Programs

Individual Support

Our youth programming provides one-on-one advocacy-based counseling. Whether it’s over the phone or in person, we can help youth navigate complicated systems or offer support to youth going through a hard time. This support is free and confidential.

Groups

We have groups available for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and questioning youth.  Contact us for details about time, location, description and availability of current groups.

Voices in Power (VIP) Project

This project offers a wide array of support to lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans youth (14-23) around issues of violence and crime, such as dating violence, bullying, hate violence, assault, exploitation, theft, police harassment and youth in the sex trades. Centering youth empowerment and self-determination, the VIP project works with queer and trans youth to develop healthy relationship skills and stronger support networks. The VIP program supports youth to increase their confidence and abilities to address and prevent future incidents of violence and crime.

OutSpoken LGBT Youth Speaker’s Bureau

OutSpoken is a diverse group of LGBT and allied youth, adults and providers dedicated to challenging bullying, oppression and anti-LGBT violence in our schools. By training youth to be educators, the OutSpoken Speakers’ Bureau empowers youth to directly address and challenge the systems that impact their lives.

Are you a youth wanting to get involved?

We hold regular trainings to support you in building the skills needed to be an educator in your communities. Once you’ve attended the training, we pay you to be your fabulous self and share your experience and knowledge with others.

Interested in having a panel of LGBT and allied youth at your school, organization or event?

We have a wonderful pool of over 75 young people excited for opportunities to share their experience and knowledge with their communities.  We have panels available on the topics of coming out, youth empowerment, anti-oppression, being a queer youth of color, experiences in foster care, alternative education, experiences in faith communities and much much more!  Please contact us at 206-568-7777 or for more information.
