Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I GET SUPPORT?

It works best to give us a call (206-568-7777). Please leave us a message with your return phone number and indicate whether it is okay for us to leave a voicemail. We’ll set up a time for you to speak with an advocate who can answer questions about our services. Advocates will talk in depth with you about what’s happening in your relationship and identify the best available resources in your community.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIVE IN THE NORTHWEST?

No problem. The Northwest Network is part of a national movement to address domestic violence in LGBTQ communities and has relationships with organizations in many parts of the country. We provide services to people all over and know that people are usually best served by providers with knowledge of the communities they live in. We do our best to connect people to the resources that will be most supportive for their needs—wherever they might be.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

All of our services are FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL.

I’M WORRIED ABOUT MY FRIEND. CAN I CALL WITH QUESTIONS?

Yes! As an organization rooted in the LGBT community, we understand the role friends and chosen family play in our lives. Advocates will speak with you about how you can help your loved one connect to resources, as well as how to offer strategies and information to a friend or family member who is experiencing abuse.

HOW DO I KNOW IF THESE SERVICES ARE RIGHT FOR ME?

We’d be happy to help you figure that out. Whether you feel certain of the support you are looking for or just have questions about issues in your relationship, advocates will spend time learning more about what’s happening in your life and work to get you connected to the best resources for your needs. We have staff from diverse backgrounds, identities and experiences in an effort to make our services as accessible as possible.

HOW DO I KNOW MY INFORMATION WILL BE KEPT PRIVATE?

At the NW Network, confidentiality is of the utmost importance. We understand both the benefit and challenge of reaching out for services within your own community. We have 35 years of experience in working within small communities and ensuring that your information is kept confidential.
